Inspiration: A kaleidoscope of colors and flavors. Have you found yours?
Eleanor Roosevelt once said that when you cease to contribute, you begin to die. I feel that when we loose our inspiration, we begin to settle. So, what’s your inspiration? Is it a person? A concept? A raindrop?
Or, have you adopted society’s ready-made inspirations like Mother Theresa and the Dali Lama? Of course, these are fabulous human beings, but have we made them so fabulous that the average person sees them as bigger than life? Well, they aren’t and they weren’t. Sure, the breath of their message extends beyond everyday fare, but they had their ups, downs, tummy aches and magic moments just like the rest of us. Hmm, are there other sources of inspiration closer to home?
Let me introduce the SoulNudge Creates! Award. It’s a hearty round of applause for people who have stepped through the fire and come out smiling, thriving and connected to their inspiration, or SoulNudge. Do you know anyone that fits this description? Hey, perhaps it’s the person you wink at in the mirror!
If you feel uncertain about nominating yourself, remember, it is not about “you”. It’s about sharing your inspiration – to help, to inspire, and to connect heartbeat-to-heartbeat.
Click here for more SoulNudge Creates! Award information. Let’s keep the positive energy growing, glowing and flowing!
PS - Look forward exciting news about a new Web Radio Show in our next issue. Yes!

| Set Your Life In Motion! Interview with John Carosella |
Interviewed by Mildred Lynn | Fall 2006 |
 John Carosella |
John Carosella is Vice President, Content Control for Blue Coat Systems, headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA. What’s exciting about John is that he is part of an emerging breed of executives successfully forging new trails within corporations. John could have left that world, but instead he rewired it by becoming the change he wants to see. Sound empowering? It is. John also does shamanic healing work, writes poetry and music, and makes wine. Not your typical executive resume, or regular corporate job. How does he manage it? We asked John.

|
When did you have your SoulNudge? |
| I've been having them off and on for years, sometimes "successfully" ignoring them, always with complicated and sometimes ironically funny consequences. One SoulNudge occurred when a friend said, "John, you know, all the success you've had -- it's really been achieved without using your true gifts..." I thought, "I wonder if he's right?!" Then at the next transition in my life, when I was closing down a troubled startup company, some friends suggested -- no, INSISTED rather vehemently (quite a surprise for such gentle folks, but they knew I needed the fully charged cattle prod, I guess) -- that I take the time to really explore the other parts of myself. The non-techno-executroid side. My artistic, sensitive, creative self. And that really sent me on my way.
|
What resources help you live your dream? |
| First, the love I have in my family. I have a great wife and three fantastic kids that love me and help me grow. Second, my training in shamanism. I've been working to develop shamanic healing abilities, and through this work I've come to heal parts of myself that I didn't even know were wounded. I am also deeply touched and satisfied when my efforts bring comfort to some one else who is wounded. One fun and effective tool I use (almost) every day is called The Fifteen Minute Miracle. It's a book by Jacquelyn Aldana, and it comes with a worksheet that walks you through gratitude, positive feeling, intention, power, and envisioning. And, by George, it actually works!
|
What life lesson would you like to share with others? |
| Fear is the bogey-man. When you walk in fear, the whole world is a different color. It's not any less real, because we create the world from our own frame of reference. But it's not a very friendly or accommodating place. When you can learn to release fear, it's like the sun rises and the world becomes a beautiful, ripe, and fertile place. Life abounds everywhere. Possibilities manifest themselves right in front of you. Life becomes a gift. I'm convinced that we get what we ask for. The key is knowing what to ask for, and knowing when you're asking. Because most of us don't really understand this as truth, we're sending confusing messages to the Universe, and the Universe is scrambling to respond. So we get a mish-mash of things we want, things we think we want but don't, and things we don't want but asked for anyway. Drop the fear and bring gratitude and joy to your walk, and enjoy the
sunrise. Each one of us who can do so brings positive change to the world.
|
What is your life's mission? |
| In my fifteen minute miracle, I state an ongoing intention: "To use my gifts and talents to the fullest, in Joy and Delight, for the benefit of all life everywhere, including my family, my friends, my community, and myself." If I can pull this off, I figure I've accomplished my mission, whatever it turns out to be.

| Your Body Loves You! Interview with Dr. Glenna Morris |
Interviewed by Mildred Lynn | Fall 2006 |

Dr. Glenna Morris |
Dr. Glenna Morris is a Naturopathic doctor and the founder of Balance Naturopathic Health Clinic Inc. located in Halifax, NS, Canada. Building on empowering naturopathic principles, she is living her dream of helping individuals regain their health with natural, noninvasive medicine. What does this health conscious, on-the-go gal find exhilarating about being on the leading edge of holistic medicine? We asked Glenna.
|
|
What inspires you about being a Naturopathic doctor? |
| My patients inspire me. When they take responsibility for their health and learn about what causes their "dis-ease". By the second visit, I'm amazed at how much the body can change and become healthier.
|
What have you learned about the human body that takes your breath away? |
| The human body is so forgiving. It wants to be healthy. It takes so much abuse with bad food, little sleep, water, exercise and a lot of stress. When you decide to take care of your body, it often heals itself. The body tells us what it needs and when it isn’t getting what it needs, it "talks to us" with symptoms. If you listen to the symptoms and make the necessary changes, the damage can often be reversed. If you ignore the symptoms your health continues to decline.
|
How do most people you attract to your practice view their bodies? |
| Most people think of their body as a mystery and don’t know their bodies very well. Although the body is complex, it makes perfect sense. The body wants balance and it will do anything to keep functioning in balance. If we give it what it needs, it will do its job.
|
How does being a Naturopathic doctor help you evolve as a human being? |
Naturopathic Medicine is an emerging field, so I'm practicing medicine that is questioned and challenged. I try to be true to myself in all aspects of my life and make choices that I believe in. I took a leap of faith when I choose this path--not many people even knew what a naturopathic doctor was 10 years ago. Today, I empower patients with a fresh appreciation for the innate healing potential of the body--ultimately, helping them understand that their body loves them!
